Allison Metts received her doctorate in psychology from University of California, Los Angeles in 2024, where her work focused on social support and emotion regulation as protective factors for depression and anxiety. She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship and her post-doctoral research training in the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System. Allison completed her post-doctoral clinical training at Verdant Mental Health. She trained extensively in evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy.
Allison is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice, providing comprehensive DBT and CBT treatments to clients in Texas, California, and PSYPACT states. She works with adolescents and adults seeking help with depression, anxiety, trauma, disordered eating, emotion dysregulation, life stressors, and other challenges.
Allison is Affiliate Faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. Allison also works on a federally funded grant as a study therapist and conducts independent research on resilience in US military Veterans.
