DBT Level 1 Training Fall 2026

Date: September 24 - December 17, 2026

This course will cover the basic elements of DBT including theory, all modes of treatment, and interventions. In some organizations, this level of training is called “foundational or comprehensive”. This training is designed to be an introductory course in DBT, and to help you commence your journey towards beginning to offer comprehensive DBT. The course will occur over 12 weeks and will cover the following topics: Overview of theory and modes of treatment, pre-treatment, risk assessment and documentation, diary card, case conceptualization, behavioral principles and chain analysis, phone coaching, consultation team, skills group, stylistic strategies, contingency management, exposure, cognitive modification, and secondary targets. This course is led by three DBT-Linehan Board Certified instructors, Drs. Hollie Granato, Christopher Hawkey, and Hugh Leonard.

Synthesis Psychological Consortium is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Synthesis Psychological Consortium maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
